Shaman Leveling Guide: The Class Basics

Shamans are considered spiritual leaders of the tribes and clans where they belong. They are often referred to as elemental masters because they use their spells and totems. These in turn can heal and even enhance abilities of their allies and party members. On the other end they can also unleash their elemental furies to their enemies and targets. They are one versatile class able to wade into battle, hurt enemies with their lights and bolts and restore their friends. Thus having a shaman leveling guide would definitely aid you in understanding the said class.

Shamans are best referred to as jack of all trades but a master of none. No wonder they are commonly referred to as one hybrid class. They may not be that excellent or at par at a certain skill but certainly that can perform most of the tasks in a party. They can act as a support healer, a secondary tank and even a damager. As such they also have quite a number of utility spells that they can use for themselves and for the other members as well.

One great advantage of being a shaman is its ability to heal and even resurrect other players. Secondly, they can also transform into a ghost wolf that allows them to travel much faster. They are also the only ones who can use and utilize totems of water, fire, air and earth. They are also capable of walking in the water. Another huge advantage of being a shaman is their instant cast damage spells. However, there are still weaknesses that a shaman possesses. Depending on the element chosen, it will also grant you different scales like health that can increase party resistance to health that slows enemy’s movement speed. Totems are very handy but must be carried out and protected carefully.

These are just some of the major things that you need to know with regards to being a shaman. As such, you hold one great responsibility in a group or a party. Shaman Talent In Cataclysm

A shaman is one hybrid class in World of Warcraft. They serve as a healer and even a melee to ranged damage dealer. No wonder it is tagged as one adaptable and versatile class in the game. Shamans are designed to enhance all areas of a party whilst not focusing to one aspect of it. Thus they can become an asset to any group.

With the dawn of Cataclysm, the shaman class will also be affected. For those players who are handling one better read on as we are giving you important updates on the changes of your class. One thing to look forward to when the new expansion would set in is their new talents. These are focused strikes, ancestral swiftness, searing flames, totemic vigor and improved lava lash.

Focused strikes are awesome for enhancement leveling that can really aid low level shamans. This is one wonderful spell that can effectively kill mobs by simply casting lightning bolt. Much more primal strikes will be the low version of stormstrike. In order to enhance it you need a talent that will serve as a key. In addition, there would also be a 40% additional damage on top of SS at the max level that can serve as a primary damaging tool.

Ancestral swiftness is another interesting component. This will surely give shamans an edge in terms of run speed and in staying alive. Thus all the running around melee will need to do for target switches and avoidance of damage. Lightning overload, mimiron and yogg-saron getting to safety, run from ghosts to chasing volatile experiments and even defiles on lichii poo, you can definitely use your ancestral swiftness to do these things. Much more it only requires three talent points.

Totemic vigor would now be enhanced come Cataclysm. The totem’s shield will somehow give you a fixed amount of health and can be boosted by the glyph. As a shaman you can definitely maximize and reap the benefits of totem heath. Searing flames and improved lava lash are also important components of you being a shaman. Searing totem can now get a buff on single target fights. Not managing a magma totem on the other hand means one less cooldown. But do take note it adds a new boss debuff that needs to be monitored. Searing totem cast every 2.6 seconds is equivalent to 13 seconds from planting the totem to the 5th stack or putting 10.4 seconds from the application of the 1st stack to the 5th. Another thing to anticipate is the increase of the Lava lash to 130% damage. This is like 30% plus 20% per stack of searing multiplied by 5.

These are just some of the exciting talent changes that you can duly anticipate with Cataclysm. Much of the details for sure are still not in here but you have the whole expansion to discover when the update would be here. Thus, better stay glued as to when would be its possible release and definitely you will surely enjoy.
