The warrior guide from Killer Guides’ is intended to teach you the ins and outs of the warrior class.
This 196 page ebook is very accurate and updated with the latest patch and no huge warrior changes incoming it should remain useful for a long time.
The basic choices of warrior are either deal damage or tank. This guide divides its attention well between the two roles so you’ll know what to do however you want to play your warrior.
Here’s a list of what the guide covers and my comments in parentheses:
- Character creation (some advice on what race and server to choose)
- Stats and formulas (An important discussion of which stats and attributes to focus on for different purposes. Get this wrong and you’ll be laughed at)
- Warrior fundamentals (This is where you learn to play. Tanking, DPSing, stances, rage management and more is covered here.)
- PvP (Death Knight have been added, but otherwise not updated for WotLK. Most things still hold true. though.)
- Talents (A thorough discussion of every talent; crucial information since it determines your warrior’s strength. Some talent builds weren’t entirely accurate, though.)
- Gear guide (Never run out of ideas for gear again! A comprehensive list of gear for levels 15-80, obtainable through instances, quests or crafting/buying so it should fit every play style. Very cool chapter since gear is so important to a warrior. Also divided into DPS and prot gear for end-game.)
- 1-80 leveling guides (Points you in the right direction, but don’t expect it to be nearly as detailed as a dedicated leveling guide)
- Gold guide (As above)
Overall, I think the guide does show you how to become a capable warrior.
The only problem
The guide doesn’t address the warrior class quests. The PvP strategies are somewhat outdated, though still useful. The gameplay strategies could have been a bit more specific.
Conclusion
In the end, if you’re a new or progressing warrior, I think this will be a great help. Even high level players that want to learn a new role, like tanking in raids may benefit. Hardcore players should look elsewhere for advice. A strong 7/10.
