WoW Guild Revamped Again

It was not long ago when Blizzard had officially announced that the guild number cap for members would be brought down to 600. This would take effect in the new patch known as 4.0.1. Of course many were not affected by such news since 99% of the guilds in the World of Warcraft only contain members less than that count. However, a few reacted most especially they larger ones.

Blizzard had their own share of sentiments why they are implementing such a role. For one, management in this kind would be pretty cumbersome especially for the guild leaders. After all they can’t really assist their members because of the number. In addition, in comes to raid and dungeons only a few number of the guild members can participate and the other would be left out. Hence, considering these areas the World of Warcraft creator really had something to be taken into account.

Nevertheless, the community was outraged by such announcement. In spite of the explanations given, they were not happy with it. They are afraid they would be cut out from one big guild and having a new one would be not that practical. Hence, such sentiments were re evaluated.

Today, a new announcement was made. From the former 600, it had now become 1,000 members per guild under the patch of 4.0.1. Although only a few guilds have members higher than 1000, at least both parties had come into a compromise. It is seriously stipulated that guilds with such a number won’t be able to recruit new members. However, for those with 1500 members, they will still remain intact but they can’t be able to accept more.

This is to ensure that there would be a guild size control in relation to the new guild system which is still under work by Blizzard. This even includes guild leveling and achievements. The graphical user interface can only cater up to 500 members to be seen on it. The new guild system particularly the leveling section features unified progression. This is actually powered by complex systems that can be able to track the contribution of a specific guild member. Hence, the larger the guild is, the bigger would be its impact to the system itself. It is with this the guild size has been capped out in order to ensure the continued performance of such.

Nonetheless, 1000 is way better than 600. I guess it is about time that the big guilds will revamped themselves and check the active members while putting the excess to another guild perhaps. In no way we can’t alter this and the best way to do is of course to follow what has been set. Even if the guild number was revamped at the very least, Blizzard listened to its players clamor.
