World of Warcraft Book Review
After the Burning Legion was Defeated along with the eastern regions of Kalimdor it now has to be shared with two fractions. Lady Jaina Proudmoore, one of the most powerful mages alive, leads the humans of Theramore, and Warchief Thrall leads the orcs of Durator.
But something is happening between these two races, that not one is expecting. The Orc’s are getting attacked at near by Durator holding and this indicates a rekindleing of hatred between the humans and the orcs. A minor shipping occurrence leads to tremendous tension between the two powers. This small shipping problem end up coursing so much trouble that the only neutral inhabitains of the area complain. It’s up to Thrall and Jaina to thwart disaster before the familiar hatreds are rekindled, and Kalimdor is thrown into another destructive war that devastating for those who live there.
Although there is allot of tension Thrall ask Jaina for help in locating a couple of thunder lizards that have gone missing, because of the unexplained logging operation at Thunder Ridge. Jaina’s plan is to relocate the Thunder Lizards to an area on the far side of Mulgore that is largely unpopulated, only to discover that the area is magically warded so that it’s lone inhabitant Aegwynn remains protected.
Jaina is seeking at the truth about the attacks on the orc camps, but at the same time is revealed with a scandalous revelation. Jaina then gets filled in by the former guardian of trisfall, on what has been casing the attacks and it is revealed that the minor deamon Zmodlor, was behind all the attacks and was planning and plotting that the two powers orcs and humans would rise up against each other.
Her meeting with a legendary wizard who has been long lost, challenges all that Jaina has ever believed and it illuminates much of the secret history of the WoW.
In this book the two main characters are Thrall and Jaina and even a true statement in the game warcraft and world of warcraft. Jaina being a powerful wizard must lead her small group of humans in lands that are hostile and on the verge of a brutal war against the demon Horde. Thrall is an orc, who was raised by humans as a slave, and he leads a rebellious following of orcs against human bondage.
Thrall motivates the orcs to fall back to their old ways before they become cursed by demons. Both of these leaders are desperately attempting to move beyond all the hatred and forge a new future. However, these old hatred is dying a slow death. Thanks to a third character, the situation is precarious. You’ll need to read the book if you want to discover who this third character is.
The feelings on this book are certainly mixed. Some are referring to it as the Cycle of Blah. I like many other people like this book and found it quite enjoyable, it’s not the best world of warcraft book you could buy but it’s still one of many peices that you should read. Decandido, who is also the author of several other War of Warcraft books. For those die hard WoW fans don’t be surprised if putting the book down because a difficult task as you engulf yourself around the Cycle of Hatred.
